The Zimbabwe Psychological Association (ZPA) is the professional body representing psychologists in Zimbabwe. We are dedicated to advancing the science and practice of psychology, promoting the highest standards of professional conduct, and advocating for mental health and wellbeing across the nation. Our members include clinical psychologists, educational psychologists, organisational psychologists, and researchers working in various sectors.Â
Membership is open to qualified psychologists and psychology students in Zimbabwe. We offer several membership categories:
Â
You can find a registered psychologist through our member directory on our website. All listed practitioners are verified members in good standing with the association. We recommend contacting psychologists directly to enquire about their areas of specialisation, availability, and fees. You can also contact our office for assistance in finding a psychologist who meets your specific needs.

Professional fees vary depending on the psychologist’s qualifications, experience, location, and the type of service required. Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes. We recommend discussing fees directly with your chosen psychologist during your initial inquiry. Many psychologists offer sliding scale fees based on financial circumstances, and some services may be covered by medical aid schemes.Â
While ZPA itself does not provide direct clinical services, we coordinate community mental health awareness programs, workshops, and public education initiatives. We also maintain a directory of qualified psychologists who offer services across Zimbabwe. During Mental Health Awareness campaigns, we often organize free screening programs and educational seminars.
Professional conduct complaints should be directed to the Health Professions Authority of Zimbabwe (HPAZ), which has the legal authority to investigate and discipline registered practitioners. However, you may also contact ZPA for guidance on the complaints process. We take ethical concerns seriously and can help you understand your rights and the appropriate channels for addressing professional misconduct.
Yes, we regularly organize annual conferences, workshops, seminars, and training programs covering various aspects of psychology and mental health. These events provide opportunities for continuing professional development, knowledge sharing, and networking. Information about upcoming events is available on our website and through our member communications.
